The way you think about eating is an identity. The way you think about your job or career is an identity, the way you think about the money you earn is an identity. In fact, don’t they all just get categorized under the identity of whatever you call yourself.

The identity of whatever you call yourself, let’s look at that for a moment or two. Look for your – self and what you know it as. Sooner or later if you look deeply, the awareness will come that all of what you know your identity as is only a bunch of thoughts. All of what you know your identity to be are only thoughts nothing more.

In Truth what you are is not thought at all. What you are is beyond all thought and the mind with all its concepts. The irony is that what you think you are is only being thought.

When you think of someone else it takes up the present moment. It can seem very real, right? That is just what is going on with the identity you believe you are.

This identity is no more than creating a folder on your computer and giving it a name. Let’s call it “All likes and dislikes”. As moments go by in a day events are put into this folder both good and bad. Due to this labeling and judgment, we have now placed personal meaning to these events. This folder becomes the false identity.

What you are isn’t actually even a you. This label “You” creates a separation from the everything else. If there is a belief in a You, then there will be a separation from everything else.  This idea or thought of a “You” as your True Nature is complete unreal.

There is only the True Nature, and there is no identity even as this. The True Nature isn’t an identity. For there to be an identity there has to be substance or elements to be identified. Otherwise, without substance it does not exist as an identity.

What are you then without substance or elements to identify with? Now we get to the truth of existence.

This is the primary purpose of this life experience. That is to find out what it is that you actually are.

Why is this important? Most all of our pain and suffering is due to our belief in being an identity, and not the One True Nature. This pain and suffering is caused by the belief in an identity and what it consists of. It only consists of thoughts or elements. These thoughts, whether memories of the past or projections of the future, or concepts of the present, all fortify the identity.

The identity also believes that it will die, and has no ability to realize that it is actually the eternal. It is this fear of death and with it no longer being able to identify itself, that causes all the pain and suffering.

Maybe you can grasp what I am about to say. When we hold onto an identity that likes to eat sweets and unhealthy food this identity is going to cause health issues. These health issues not only cause physical pain and suffering in the body, but also cause mental / emotional pain and suffering because the identity will create more thoughts of dying due to the health issues.

Now take that understanding and use it in every aspect of how you live you life and what you do. What about relationships, finances, the car you drive, the house you own. The identity believes all of these elements to be part of its existence, and when they are lacking, the identity will experience pain and suffering.

Our health and wellbeing lay in awakening to our True Nature and letting go of the habit of identity with all its fears of non-existence.

In truth it is only a conditioned response or habit in believing in an identity.

Giving meaning to thoughts and events and holding onto them as part of a false identity is what causes all the pain and suffering.

Holding onto a false sense of your true Self, is the cause of pain and suffering. It is not needed and does not give this life experience any true joy and peace.

All that is needed is the realization that you do not require a made up, (false), identity to exist.

The time is now, not sometime in the future for you to create health and wellness. See this moment as the critical point of changing your life around.
